Clinical review

Everything this app claims, in one place.

Two jobs: check each instrument name against the item in front of you, and read every claim below. Nothing here is approved — this is a draft written by the build.

Disclaimer
“Advisory record from a technology demonstration. Not a clinical document. The manual count and the WHO checklist remain the record of the count.”
Landing, hero
Caveat
“A second pair of eyes. The manual count and the WHO checklist stay exactly as they are.”
Landing, what this is not
Not validated in theatre
“The model is trained on desk captures of real instruments and common medical items, not on data from an operating theatre. Different lighting, drapes, blood, fluid, sterile gloves in frame — transfer is unvalidated. It is the first thing Phase 2 fixes.”
Landing, what this is not
Not tested against a workflow
“This is a technology demonstration of the counting and reconciliation mechanism. Nothing here has been tested against a clinical workflow.”
Landing, what this is not
Not a counting system
“Retained surgical items are a never-event with regulatory weight. The manual count and the WHO checklist stay exactly as they are. The app's job is to catch the case where the manual count was already wrong.”
3 · What the build will not claim for you
  • Whether any of these instrument names is correct. Nobody on the build side has seen the physical items.
  • That the counting is safe to rely on. It is measured on synthetic trays and web catalogue photographs, never on a real tray in a theatre.
  • Any patient-safety benefit. No such claim appears anywhere above, and none should be added without evidence that does not yet exist.
